Mumbai finds itself at the top of the list as the most expensive Indian city for a tourist (Rs 7,921), followed by Ahmedabad and New Delhi. Jaipur turns out to be the most value-for-money destination in India, where the above basics would cost you just Rs 3,933. |

Must-see photo: Ku Bon-Ryul soars at New Zealand Winter Games 2011 Posted: 23 Aug 2011 10:44 PM PDT There's nothing like a boiling hot day in urban Seoul to make you start craving some big mountains and open air. Which is why we're supremely jealous of the Korean athletes competing right now at the Winter Games in New Zealand. For some reason, Korean media outlets have not been reporting on the competition, even though it's sponsored by Kia and a number of the country's top athletes are competing in main events. In the Snowboard Big Air event today, Ku Bon-Ryul represented Korea and placed 10th out of 40 competitors -- Maxence Parrot of Canada came in first -- while Park Sung-Jin placed 16th. Kwon Dae-won and Park Kwang-Soo also competed, but did not place. |
Hong Kong social media use higher than United States Posted: 23 Aug 2011 10:42 PM PDT Social media use is higher in Hong Kong than in the United States, according to the Blogher 2011 Social Media Matters Study. Out of 387 Hong Kong residents polled in the online survey conducted in March and co-sponsored by Ketchum, 92 percent visit Facebook, 77 percent read blogs on a weekly basis and 52 percent write blogs. Comparatively, only 87 percent of respondents in the United States indicated that they use Facebook weekly, while Brazil notched up 72 percent and Germany 58 percent. Nearly half of Hong Kong respondents agreed that social media "had a positive impact on their lives." |
