Call for legalization of travel-related tipping in China

Major Chinese travel website Ctrip.com recently announced the launch of a "travel tipping project" on all domestic tours.

The new plan will entitle its staff to accept service fees during domestic trips as an official part of their salary.

The Shanghai-based bilingual site hopes to establish an incentive system through the project that will encourage its tourist guides to deliver better services.

The Nasdaq-listed company is also calling for the government to lift the ban on travel tipping in China.

Tips officially prohibited in China

Mainland Chinese travelers aren't in the habit of giving tips. In fact, tipping is officially prohibited by the central government.

The exhibition, billed as the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, features 23 works by graffiti artist Banksy

He's perhaps the world's most famous anonymous person.

Banksy's fame comes with a street-art oath that his true identity won't be revealed. His works, though, are collected by some of the world's most famous faces, including Brad Pitt and David Beckham. His work "Keeping it Spotless" sold for nearly $2 million in 2008.

But Banksy remains a faceless activist and subversive born from the Bristol underground, pulling off such bold stunts as lining Israel's West bank wall with nine of his works in 2005.

Scoot Airlines: Not your usual airline

The yet undefined "scootitude" is what Scoot Airlines CEO Campbell Wilson is banking on to challenge rivals when it begins flying in mid-2012.

Intangible as it may sound, Wilson went on to elaborate that the name [and brand] "conveys spontaneity, movement, informality and a touch of quirkiness."

還未得悉此事的，讓我告訴你，「佔領新加坡」行動徹底失敗。

不僅沒有人﹣﹣幾乎沒有人吧﹣﹣響應 Facebook 上的號召到 Raffles Place 聚集，而且網上對活動失敗的報導，還反映出新加坡網民對霸權由標誌性的譏諷變成一時衝動的空談而已。

更差的是，有一本地 blog 聲稱，原報名參與「佔領Raffles Place」抗議行動的參與者，最後卻轉到另一開玩笑「佔領Ben and Jerry's Chunkfest」﹣﹣的宣傳推廣活動。

美食與政治，對於許多新加坡人來說，一點也不難抉擇。連馬來西亞的「佔領吉隆坡」行動也不失禮地有200人出席。

有些國家的人民，從小受教育灌輸其站出來發聲的權利，在那些國家透過 Facebook 發起運動大概可行。可是新加坡並不是這樣一個國家。

我們的教育制度是個只看數字的機器。學校教導我們社會只重視可計量的成就，抽象的社會責任感和政治參與度等一般都被掩蓋。這些是塑造一個社會選舉文化的決定性因素。我們要熱心公益，卻也要被動順從。我們表揚個性，卻不稱許個人。我們大多學歷高，認識卻很少。

Acupressure is the practice of pressing or massaging certain points on the body said to stimulate self-curative abilities.

For each of the points descibed below, you may need to press or rub the point in 20-30 second intervals for up to 10 minutes before the effect is felt. You may also need to use it repeatedly throughout the day.
